WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY VS WEDDING CINEMATOGRAPHY
What's the difference between videography and cinematography? A videographer traditionally captures events more objectively for the purposes of historic preservation. Although a cinematographer is traditionally the crew member on a Hollywood film responsible for the photographic look (known as a DP or director of photography), the term cinematographer has been appropriated by wedding videographers to market a more modern artistic approach. Various terms are widely used and seeing through marketing hype can become a challenge. At Pacific Pictures, our comfortably equipped cinematography packages include both long-form fully edited documentary films, which preserve the entirety of your wedding events, as well as our award-winning cinematic highlight films, concept films, and same-day-edits, thus giving our clients the very best of both worlds.
